Yes they do take reservations
The aburi sushi is definitely the highlight but doesn't compensate for the downfalls. The restaurant seems to be a family business an have only one chef and another helper, this made the food come out very slowly. Additionally, because of the short staff, one whole page of the menu couldn't be ordered! We also ordered assorted sashimi 16pieces for 26$ was a little expensive. If you live near the restaurant, I can see the appeal of getting decent sushi without having to drive anywhere but I wouldn't drive 30mins to try it again.
Food is really god but the parking and the wait are definitely deterant for me. If you can find parking or go at non peak hours this place is awesome!!!. It was probably worse when I went as they seem to have construction on the roads and they are building new apartment complexes near the area.
Impressive beef tataki and oshizushi. I would give five star if their yaki beef soba is better.
Food tasted very good!
ShawOpen wifi availableCash and card accepted Plenty of seating available, they have little rooms on the side with more seatingOrdered the salmon Oshi, chopped scalloped roll, takoyaki and others. Food tasted good and was a good amount for 5 peopleEfficient and friendly staff
Neat little place in a little community residential area. A bit hard to find parking
The place is kind of out of the way yet easy to get too. The sushi is very good , very fresh and well prepared. The aburi sushi is really tasty and reasonably priced
Cosy and serene restaurant with excellent and attentive service. Greatly enjoyed my chirashi! Thanks!
Great price and good food!
The oshi sushi is fantastic. The service is good too. Very hard to find parking though!
The best sushi at a decent price. This is our go to place, consistantly has delicious food
The spoon and salmon oshi were delicious. Great flavours for a decent price.
Their aburi sushi is very impressive! Fresh ingredients in good portion size. I like how they can adjust the pieces in your order according to your group size - normally it's 6 pieces and they did 8 pieces for our group, which is perfect for sharing! Price is very reasonable. Although it's a bit far away from where I live, I'll definitely go back for their great food!w
Taste isn't bad, reasonable price but the service wasn't great either. We did make reservations for 4 but in the end, we ended up having 5 adults plus a baby. They put us in the back room at a table of 4 at first and when we found out we had more, they said we couldn't sit at the other table which was meant for 6. They said it was all reserved. We were there since 6 pm and around 8pm, they seat a group of 4 at that table!!! This is ridiculous. Food is tasty but takes really really long. This is a fairly residential area and probably doesn't have much, if many other options for Japanese food. After ordering, they told us sushi would take at least 30 minutes, I think it was closer to 45 minutes, if not longer. They also seem to forget that you're in the room. No one came to clear the dishes or anything like that. And when we had more people, they didn't bother bringing us another place setting either.May do take out in the future, but not going to eat in again.
Very good quality sushi at a decent price.
New owners took over 6 to 8 months ago and now the same dishes I loved for many years are terrible. No attention to quality or freshness. I'm sad.
Located in the Victoria Hill community of New Westminster, it’s a sushi joint away from they busy commercial district of the city. It is not very accessible other means of public transportation except by bus, but it is worth making the drive. It can be a little hard to find if you are not familiar with the community.Parking: Plenty of 2-hour street parking nearby, within walking distancePrice: $$ Value: GoodRecommendations: Try their Scallop Oshi and Nabeyaki Udon (or any kind of Udon).
So good! All their Oshi rolls are mm-mm-mmm! So buttery it feels like it just melts in your mouth.
Great service and food - try the chicken katsu and dynamite roll! A local gem.
Came here to try oshi because I saw them on social media and it looked really good. We ordered beef oshi ($14), scallop oshi ($13), chirashi don ($16) and spider roll ($7). The oshi was really delicious and creamy, rice to toppings ratio was nicely balanced. Everything else was pretty basic and standard (not in a bad way). Unfortunately though, I would not come back due to the extremely slow service. We arrived around 12:30pm Sunday and it wasn't too busy at the time. But we waited for more than 40 minutes before our first food arrived to the table. I saw another table have their tempura come out fairly quick after ordering, then waited another 40 minutes for their sashimi and rolls. You can see the disappointment on a lot of people's faces when they bring out food, and it's still not theirs. Parking is also very minimal. We were lucky to park nearby at the apartment buildings, but there are only about 4 spots. Taste: 4/5 Service: 2/5 Value: 3/5
Below average service. Forgot our teas and waited for a long time for our bill. Great sushi and lunch box though.
Great sushi in the neighborhood. Friendly staff. Recommended!
Reasonable price with quality food , ideal place for dinner dating
The food is mostly good but there have been multiple times where our beef was severely undercooked and bloody (pregnant wife wasn't happy at all) and just today we found a hair in our Tampura. Quality control guys? Don't think I will eat here anymore.
The Oshi is delicious. The duck was way over cooked. Everything else was great. Service was good and the food was quick.
It's a neighbourhood sushi restaurant owned by Korean. Went there on a Friday around 7pm, quite busy, food serve slow. Server was friendly. The price is reasonable, oshi sushi come with 6 pieces and they are delish. My favorite is salmon oshi. However, The fried food need some improvement.
Great food, awesome quality and phenomenal service! A definite hole on the wall experience!
Great food at a reasonable price. One of the best sushi places in New West.
Their aburi oshi sushi were good. We ordered the salmon, saba and ebi, and a bunch of other items from the menu. The service was quick. Parking was kind of hard to find because it's in a residential area.
Think of this place as Miku's suburb cousin - that's what Victoria Sushi is. Fantastic everything... Highly recommended is the Aburi tobiko roll. yummy sashimi salad, tenderloin beef tataki, soy ginger duck miso yaki (this is one dish), Salmon Aburi oshi omg. parking sucks but that's not their fault. oh, and keep away from Unagi roll ($5.50). You'll chew forever..... Oh, and stay away during peak dinner times. unless you have much patience and if you're ordering takeout. In that case, give plenty of time... like an hour sometimes for a few rolls. Not joking. It's allllll worth it
Small place so make reservations else you can wait for up to an hour like we did!Orders are held up by the 3 chefs frantically trying to get orders out so the rest of your order may arrive will in advance of your sushi.
My fave sushi place! Love the Agadashi Tofu and the Spider Roll
Great lunch combo. Will definitely come back to try other items.
Really good aburi sushi👍🏻
The food was delicious, the salmon sashimi was very good but the cut was too thick. The rest of the rolls we ordered were delicious. I recommend the salmon oshi as well as the aburi crunchy roll. The service was a bit slow though, we kept needing to grab the attention of the waitress, even though she was very nice and kind. Food wise, really good, customer service can be improved.
#yvr best sushi. hands down. Unreal service, great quality and fantastic selections and private rooms. Chefs are to notch A+
The people who work there are really good and the place is very cozy and tha food the best.I recomend it to every body .
The aburi sushi here is in par with Miku and Minami. Parking might be difficult but it's worth it.
Friendly staffs and delicious food at a reasonable price, will definitely visit again.
Super good food but the food really takes too long waited for an hour from 4:50pm to 6:10pm
